Case on whether a person can refuse to participate in part of an eye examination

A patient recently visited my optometry practice for an eye examination. They expressed concern about the harmful effects of some forms of LED lights on their eyes and general health, after having read information online. Consequently, they declined to consent to ophthalmoscopy and slit lamp assessments. What should I do?
