2024 Member Survey reveals how College guidance is supporting profession

The College of Optometrists' 2024 Member Satisfaction Survey revealed that College guidance, in all of its forms, is highly valued by members:

• 86% of members believe the College produces high quality guidance
• Nearly a third of members said they use our Clinical Management Guidelines (CMGs) at least once a week, and that increases to nearly two thirds over a month
• Over a year, more than 90% of College members refer to our CMGs

More than 80% of College members refer to our Guidance for Professional Practice (GfPP) every year too. Developed to support optometrists in making clinical and professional decisions, and updated in 2023, the GfPP is an essential reference for optometrists in all work environments. Now in its 4^th edition, it is based on the GOC’s Standards of Practice for Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians and helps clinicians to put those standards into practice.

The Guidance is open access and available to all optometrists, healthcare professionals and the public on The College of Optometrists’ website. College members also have access to it and additional supporting materials, via the College app, which will soon be updated with some great new features.
