World Sight Day raises importance of eye care

Taking place on Thursday 10 October, this year's World Sight Day campaign focuses on children's eye health.

For this year's annual event, schools and organisations are being encouraged to facilitate vision screening of children. Parents and carers are invited to make a #LoveYourEyes pledge on behalf of their children. Teachers are being asked to access World Sight Day resources that inspire students to take care of their eyes.  

Having recently run our own children’s eye health campaign, the College is proud to be a supporter, along with colleagues across the eye care sector.

The annual event is Coordinated by the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) under the Love Your Eyes campaign banner. It takes place on the second Thursday in October each year and was created to raise awareness of blindness and the importance of eye care.
