Optometrist, Cheltenham General Hospital

The optometry department at Gloucestershire Hospitals Trust is a team made up of over 20 optometrists and 8 technicians who work across two acute hospital sites and some peripheral community hospitals. We provide core hospital optometry services and work with ophthalmology in a range of specialist clinics with an emphasis on medical retina and glaucoma.

We are looking for an optometrist to work in core hospital optometry clinics (including paediatric refraction, post cataract follow up, low vision clinics and specialist contact lens clinics) for 3 days per week. It would suit newly qualified optometrists or those about to undertake final examinations who would like to consider a future in hospital optometry. A pre-registration year in a hospital setting would be advantageous but not required as full training will be provided.
