We are seeking members to help support our work in offering College-accredited Higher Qualifications. We are widening College involvement, and so seek applications only from those who have not previously sat on the Accreditation Panel or made an application to do so.
Purpose of the role
The Accreditation Panel reviews and approves applications for College accreditation and reaccreditation at Professional Certificate, Professional Higher Certificate and Professional Diploma levels. Subjects include Glaucoma, Low Vision, Medical Retina and Paediatric Eye Care.
Main duties
The Accreditation Panel undertakes review of applications, including cross-referencing between documents for consistency and testing proposed course content, delivery and assessment for robustness. It also meets around six times a year by teleconference to discuss applications.
Who can apply
Any member with a College-accredited higher qualification or teaching qualification can apply.
Expected commitment
All work is undertaken remotely. Applicants should be able to devote around a day a month, including time in meetings, to this role. Appointments to the Accreditation Panel are for up to two three-year periods.
