Join the OSCE Development Group (£237 per day)

We are recruiting current Scheme for Registration OSCE Examiners to join the OSCE Development Group. The group's focus is to write and edit stations for the Scheme for Registration Final Assessment OSCE. 

Objectives

The objectives of the OSCE Development Group are to: 

  • write new stations for inclusion in the Final Assessment OSCE
  • scrutinise and edit newly written stations for inclusion in the Final Assessment OSCE
  • scrutinise and edit stations referred back from the Final Assessment Panel for further development following marked statistical performance in an examination or following negative examiner or candidate feedback
  • scrutinise and edit pilot scenarios referred back from the Final Assessment Panel after marked statistical performance in an examination, or following negative examiner or candidate feedback

Training and support will be provided by The College of Optometrists. 

Expected commitment

It is suggested that members of the development group meet eight times annually, but the frequency of meetings shall be determined by the the College.

The exact purpose of each meeting (ie whether writing, editing, or both) will be determined by the need for stations, and determined in advance with members by the College Education team.

Appointments will be for three years, renewable for a further three years. Chief examiners acting as Lead developers will be exempt from this.
